Ever dreamed of having a celebrity read a bedtime story to you? Well, that dream is now a reality, as Amy Adams, Jennifer Garner and several other celebrities are teaming up to do so.
As stated in a recent Teenvogue article, the two starlets teamed up with the No Kid Hungry and Save The Children charities to launch the #SaveWithStories initiative in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. This initiative involves having celebrities read children books in a series of social media posts, designed to raise awareness for these two charities.
Upon visiting the Instagram page, viewers will have the option to donate to either of the charities. The money will go to efforts to support health, education, and nutrition for students affected by the shut down of public schools.
Garner recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, explaining how she and Adams came up with the idea.
“I want to do something to help feed kids who are stranded with school closures,” Garner said. “Cause you know, between 25 and 30 million in the United States rely on school for food and free and reduced breakfast, lunches, backpack programs.”
So far, the page has over 199k followers, and features some high profile celebrities. There’s singer Demi Lovato reading “The Gruffalo.”
Actress Brie Larson reading “Giraffes Can’t Dance,”
“Dragons Love Tacos” is read by actor Noah Centineo.
In a time like this, it’s nice to see celebrities coming together to make a difference.
